HERO reduces ventilation heat loss and improves whole-home energy performance. This supports meeting ENERGY STAR energy targets and ventilation requirements aligned with CSA-F326.
R-2000 homes require controlled mechanical ventilation with recovery. HERO improves recovery efficiency and indoor air quality while limiting energy penalties. All ventilation equipment must be certified by HVI and be designed, installed, and balanced in accordance with CSA-F326.
The Passive House Institute (PHI) and Passive House Institute of the United States (PHIUS) places strict limits on heating demand and air leakage. With low specific fan power, HERO with EC motors supports compliance with ventilation and energy thresholds.
HERO contributes to LEED credits for Energy and Atmosphere, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Innovation. High total recovery efficiency and low fan power support energy optimization credits, while continuous fresh air delivery supports indoor air quality requirements.
Net Zero homes depend on aggressive energy conservation before renewable offset. HERO reduces space-heating and cooling loads caused by ventilation. Net Zero Ready homes require the same efficiency foundation as Net Zero without on-site generation. A HERO ERV/HRV with optimized duct design supports low thermal demand and controlled ventilation.
HERO® appliances supply fresh, tempered air into indoor spaces while removing excess moisture, ensuring a healthy, comfortable living environment.
HERO® appliances include rubberized duct seals and easy-connect ports for simple set-up. Unobstructed front access allows for quick cleaning and easy maintenance.
These appliances have been designed to meet the latest and most stringent ENERGY STAR® requirements, making them even more dependable, efficient, and simple to install.
