“Holy Smokes!”
Picture this: It’s a Sunday afternoon. You light up a cigar indoors; all is well… when the room starts to fill up with smoke.
Exhaust Solution with an Inline Duct Fan
You get up, turn on your ceiling fan, and open a window, and the smoke is gone. Instead of opening a window to let unconditioned outside air in, a single inline fan (exhaust-only system) connected to a speed controller would easily exhaust the stale, smoky air without letting any unwanted pollutants in. This solution is best designed for existing building envelopes that do not allow for rounds of ductwork and structural modifications.
No need to worry about protrusions from the ceiling either. Exhaust grills keep close to the ceiling and look sleek & clean.
With this setup, one click activates the fan, while the attached fluid slide bar of the Infinite speed control allows for fine adjustments of fan speeds.
It is Fantech's position that all smoking activity inside and near buildings should be eliminated, which is supported by the conclusions of the health authorities. Any level of exposure to tobacco smoke can lead to adverse health effects. Ventilation in an environment where smoking occurs requires 8–10 air exchanges per hour, at a minimum.
